A medical suction pump is the heart of the facility vacuum network, providing the negative pressure required at suction terminals in theatres, intensive care and wards, within a plant that includes multiple units, a receiver and bacterial filtration.

What is it?
A vacuum plant comprises two or more pumps in duty rotation, a vacuum receiver, bacterial filters, isolation valves that allow any unit to be serviced without interrupting the service, and a control panel with alarm signalling. Sizing ensures the plant covers the design load with the largest unit out of service, per the approved specification.
