Medical Gas Outlets
Medical Gas Outlets
A medical gas outlet is the end point where medical equipment connects to the pipeline. It uses a gas-specific connection and a self-sealing valve that prevents leakage when the device is disconnected.

What is it?
Outlets are installed on walls or within bed head units and pendants, and the connection system is selected to match the facility's existing devices. Every outlet is tested after installation for gas identity, flow, pressure and absence of cross-connection, with results documented before handover.
Features
- Gas-specific connection preventing wrong connection
- Self-sealing valve preventing leakage on disconnection
- Wall, pendant or bed head installation
- Colour and text identification of the gas
- Serviceability and replaceable internal parts
- Tested for gas identity and flow before handover
Applications
- Hospitals and medical complexes
- Operating theatres and intensive care units
- Emergency and inpatient departments
- Dialysis centres
- Day-surgery centres and clinics
- Expansion and refurbishment projects in healthcare facilities

Frequently asked questions
Can an existing outlet be changed to another gas?
Only through a documented engineering change covering pipe, connection and identification, followed by gas identity and cross-connection testing of that area.
