CMS Medical Gas Terminal Unit
CMS Medical Gas Terminal Unit
A terminal unit is where medical equipment connects to the gas pipeline. Each gas socket is designed to accept only its matching probe, preventing cross connection. Connect Medical Systems produces a British-made terminal unit family in different gas and mounting configurations.
What is it?
The unit consists of a rear body connected to the pipeline with a copper tail, a valve cartridge that closes automatically when the probe is withdrawn, and a front fascia carrying the gas name and colour. Service spares — cartridges, seal kits and blanking kits — allow the unit to be maintained without replacing the rear body built into the wall.

Frequently asked questions
Can the cartridge be replaced without breaking into the wall?
Yes. The unit is designed to be serviced from the front by replacing the cartridge and seal kits while the rear body stays in place, with the branch isolated before work begins.
