CMS Area Valve Service Unit (AVSU)
CMS Area Valve Service Unit (AVSU)
An AVSU is the recognised isolation point for each care area. It lets the operations team shut off gas to a department during a fire, a leak or modification works without affecting the rest of the building.
What is it?
The unit connects directly to the medical gas mains through copper tail pieces supplied as part of the assembly, and is surface mounted to avoid builders' work or flush mounted into a prepared wall. The box holds one valve per gas behind an emergency break-glass panel, and a blanking spade can be fitted in place of a valve where a future extension is prepared.
Features
- Surface mounting with no builders' work, or flush mounting into the wall
- Copper tail pieces supplied with the assembly for direct pipeline connection
- A separate valve per gas with clear identification of the served area
- A blanking spade can replace a valve where a future extension is prepared
- Manufactured in the United Kingdom
- Products from this brand are available according to project requirements and availability.
Applications
- Hospitals and medical complexes
- Operating theatres and intensive care units
- Emergency and inpatient departments
- Day-surgery centres and clinics
- Laboratories and supporting medical applications
- Expansion and medical gas pipeline refurbishment projects
