AGSS Plant
AGSS Plant
An AGSS protects clinical teams from exposure to waste anaesthetic gases by extracting them at the point of use and discharging them outdoors through a route independent of the medical vacuum network.

What is it?
The system comprises a dedicated extract unit, a separate pipeline network, AGSS terminal units in theatres and anaesthetising locations, and an external discharge point located safely away from air intakes. Unit sizing follows the number of terminals, the required flow rates and the approved project specification.
Features
- Route entirely independent of the medical vacuum network
- Protection of staff from chronic exposure to waste gases
- Dedicated terminal units in operating theatres
- External discharge in a safe location
- Continuous operation or interlocked with theatre use
- Status signals connectable to the alarm panel
Applications
- Hospitals and medical complexes
- Operating theatres and intensive care units
- Emergency and inpatient departments
- Dialysis centres
- Day-surgery centres and clinics
- Expansion and refurbishment projects in healthcare facilities

Frequently asked questions
Can the medical vacuum network replace AGSS?
No. Waste anaesthetic gas disposal requires an independent system with a dedicated external discharge; connecting it to the medical vacuum network is not acceptable engineering practice.
Have a project or an existing facility that needs an engineering review?
