P3 VIE Control Panels

P3 VIE Control Panels

The VIE control panel is the link between the liquid oxygen vessel and the hospital pipeline: it reduces and stabilises pressure and keeps supply continuous while one regulator is serviced. P3 manufactures UK-made panels in a duplex arrangement.

Overview

What is it?

The panel houses a duplex regulator assembly for continuity of supply, pipeline connections for the VIE and standby manifold, piped exit pressure relief valves for safe discharge outside the plant room, and pressure switches for the plant-to-alarm interface. It is mounted in a steel enclosure with a window for monitoring the pressure gauges, and is tested and certified before despatch.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why two regulators instead of one?

So the pipeline keeps running while one regulator is isolated or serviced — which is exactly why the published flow figures are quoted with one regulator out of service.
